MAKE HAY WHILST THE SUN SHINES

Seek the Lord *while He may be found; call on him while he is near.* Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”

Isaiah 55:6-7

The Sun shines by turning hydrogen into helium in its core. This process is called nuclear fusion. Fusion happens when lighter elements are forced together to become heavier elements. When this happens, a tremendous amount of energy is created.

The Sun shines because it is hot. The Sun remains hot because it is powered by nuclear fusion in its core. When hydrogen is fused into helium, mass is converted into energy.

When conditions are perfect to get something done, we can say, “It's a good idea to make hay while the sun shines.” In other words, you are taking advantage of a good situation or of good conditions. You are making the most of your opportunities. These all mean “making hay while the sun shines.”

A similar notion is expressed in The Bible, in Proverbs 10:5: He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Being alive and kicking is the perfect opportunity for you to come close to God. He can be found when you are alive so do not hesitate or shy off.
