JESUS IS THE ANSWER

When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him…When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!” For Jesus had said to, “Come out of this man, you evil spirit!” Mark 5:2, 6-8

Are you desperate today? Are your life circumstances overwhelming you? Tonight read Mark Chapter 5 as part of your devotion time. In Mark there are three people with three different types of problems, but they are all in desperate need of help from the Lord Jesus Christ. Have you cried out to your Lord today for His divine help? Jesus can calm your fears and even change the outcome of your circumstances! As you read these three stories, imagine how each person was feeling, just like you. Then see how the Lord answered their cries for His help!

Jesus saw a man with an evil spirit who was desperate. There was a storm raging inside of this man that no one could help. But, Jesus could! That is what you have to believe each and every day for every one of your problems. Regardless of your problem, be it financial, physical, spiritual or emotional, your Lord God has the answer and can set you free.

Can you imagine how many men and women who will be reading these words have a loved one who is desperate? Each one has a storm that is raging on the inside of them from bondages of sins such as sexual immorality, alcohol, drugs, smoking, gambling, or a loose tongue of anger or profanity. The Lord can set this person free if they will humble themselves, become broken, seeking Jesus Christ as Savior. We saw Him do that with the demon-possessed man, who was healed.

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you. So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

Mark 5:18-20

Do you know of someone who has been sick for a long time? They may even need a miracle to live. Are you praying for them?

Let me tell you about a desperate woman who had been sick for twelve years.( Mark 5:25-29, 33-34) She went to see Jesus as she did not know what else to do. When she saw Jesus, she reached out to touch the Lord's clothes. She was healed immediately!

Reach out your arms in faith to touch your Lord Jesus, to heal your physical diseases and also heal your broken, wounded, hurting heart. Cry out to the Lord Jesus today and He will hear your voice.

Do you remember Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue, who was also desperate? (Mark 5:22-24, 35-36, 41-42) He had a personal crisis, his young daughter was dying. Regardless of who he was, he wanted to save his daughter's life, so he went to Jesus as a last resort. Doesn't that sound like us when we are going through our marriage problems or divorce? Jesus was considered a controversial rabbi, so when Jairus fell at Jesus' feet, he knew that some in his synagogue would sharply criticize him. Jairus risked his reputation and his prestigious job because he loved his daughter and family more! Do you love someone enough to put them first to the point of risking your career or life for them?

I pray these stories in the Bible will encourage you, regardless of your circumstances. Know for certain that nothing is too hard for your Lord God. You often must be desperate and broken, willing to do whatever it takes to have your life rebuilt on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. Yes, you need to fall down, kneeling and bowing at your Lord's feet, praying and crying out for a miracle for your husband or wife and family.

“For nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:37
