GOD IS THE ONLY CONSTANT

To every thing there is season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Once a man, (was) twice a child. A man (generic) is born as a child, grows up to adulthood, and consequently enters into old age, at which point his body becomes weak and subsequently deteriorates and reverts to a childish state. I have been a child, a young man and now I am an adult. I was single without a child but today I am a a husband to my wife and a father to my children. I am also a grandfather to the children of my nephews and nieces. The fact is, I am not growing any younger, neither are my children and grandchildren. We are all growing older than we were every second, minute, hour, day et cetera. My parents went through the same process and have passed on. They and so many others have witnessed the non-permanence of this present life. Bible says, 'Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but my Words shall not pass away' Luke 21:23.

I have been around the world and have witnessed the constant changes that kept going on around us which is indicative of the non-permanence of every facet of the present world. But one thing is certain and that is the permanence of the one who created our world and us. I am so convinced about the reality of the permanence of God to the extent that I have come to one conclusion, and that is, 'THE ONLY CONSTANT in the equation of life is GOD and His infallible WORD.

Many have chased and are still chasing the permanence of whatever they have beheld as permanent but it turned out to be a mirage, an illusion and a deception they wish they never believed and pursued. Unfortunately, they cannot understand and hence cannot explain as a result they keep going after them. The fact is non of these things they scramble for in this present life are permanent. Their qualifications, wealth, affluence, affiliates, political authority, status, health age and all that there is to this present life matters not without God. Bible says 'What will it profit a man, when he gains the whole world and forfeits his life?' Mathew 16:26.

At the Centre of ALL these is the permanence of God and His infallible WORD. Everything originates from Christ Jesus, hence can ONLY thrive in Him. "ALL things were made by Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:3. He is before ALL THINGS, and IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER." Colossians 1:17.

But it baffles me, why we get so caught up with the temporary things at the expense of that which is permanent. We have a very short memory of the permanence of change and of God. We chose to LIVE for temporary pleasure at the expense of eternity. Be guided by the TRUTH, God is the ONLY CONSTANT in the equation of life.
