DON'T TALK LIKE A FOOLISH WOMAN

God gave satan permission to test Job's resolve and do everything except touch his life. Gen 2:24 says *“…and they shall become one flesh.”* This is why Job's wife was not touched because once you become married, you become one. So Satan can't kill the wife without killing Job!

Hence, satan did not attack Job's wife in the same way he attacked his possessions and health. Instead, he  *used her as a tool to further test Job's faith by having her urge him to curse God and die*; he was essentially trying to break Job's resolve through the pain of his wife's words during his extreme suffering. This is seen as a way to inflict psychological torment on Job, as the pain of a loved one's betrayal can be particularly devastating.

The Bible does not describe satan physically harming Job's wife, but rather *manipulating her to say things that would cause Job further pain and potentially make him question his faith.*

While Job's wife was likely suffering greatly herself due to the loss of her children and wealth, her words to Job to "curse God and die" are seen as a significant moment in the story, highlighting the depth of his trial.

But Job rebuked the devil by silencing his wife's voice:

But Job replied, *“You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?”* So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.

A wise woman is one like the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31, *always mindful of the needs of her household and eager to live out God's call on her life in every season.* The foolish woman, on the other hand, *is unconcerned about the needs of her husband and children.*
