God told Abraham: "Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you." Genesis 12:1
Bible The Message
Humans love new and higher heights in their growth but detests surprises and changes that they are uncertain of its outcome. God wants to do so much for us but some of us have settled for so little. We are just comfortable where we are in our spiritual and physical wellbeing. But scripture says in 3 John 1:2 that, 'I pray for good fortune in everything you do, and for your good health - that your everyday affairs, prosper as well as your soul.' But these changes occur at the times and seasons of God. If He makes it known or if it is the obvious option, prediction or prophecy with all the fine details made clear then you cannot know it is God. So there is always an element of uncertainty and surprises.
Comfort Zones and relishing the desire to have things remain as it is without unannounced changes, is a human behaviour. People prefer to sit at a particular place and on a particular chair in church. This is serious to the extent that if someone sits there before they come, it seems as if they have not arrived and are likely not to participate fully in the service. People are afraid of changing their routine, people are still in particular community, profession, church, house, relationship et cetera because although they want a change, they wish things stay as it is. They don't want surprises. But God is a God of certainty but with a touch of surprises to add the supernatural.
Abraham met God at age 75; age at which most people of our generation will retire into oblivion. God told him to move out of His country, father's house and to a place where He God will show him. God did not specify the exact place He was taking him but He trusted God. The remarkable thing is that we were told Abraham met God at age 75 and died at age 175. That's a 100 years walk with God. But age 1-75 was with his father in his country, in his father's house. The father carved idols and socialised his household including Abraham in idol worship. Abraham for 75 years of his life has worshipped and witnessed his father's house grow under the care of idols as it were. But Papa Abraham immediately abandoned his father's idols and what he has lived for 75 years to obey God whom he has never met or known. He does not have testimonies to justify his decision to move out of his country and father's house to a land he does not know. Obeying God was so important all of a sudden, than the comfort zone he has lived in for 75 years.
God is doing a new thing in these end times. He said, He will pour out His Spirit unto ALL FLESH and cause a massive harvest of souls to herald His second visit to planet earth. Instead of looking up to God for a directive to be part of this end time outpouring of God into humanity, people are rather praying and wishing God moves in their predictable thought life. They are using their small minds to wish their ministry is God's chosen people to do His end time Kingdom Business. Their Pastor is the end time man of God. But God said ALL FLESH not one man Rambo or a Rambo Ministry or church who has it all figured out. Bible says Papa Abraham against hope believed in HOPE that at age 100 and his wife at 90 he shall become the father of many nations according to the promise of his new found God.
Ministries, churches, individuals are being directed to move in a new direction with the WORD OF GOD but are relishing the status quo as the biggest ministry and church. Their message has brought them this far hence there cannot be change in emphasis from God to meet His grand design. They have become God and are very certain of the end time activities. Bible says, God's ways are not out ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. God cannot be predicted. God is going to surprise the world. He will raise men and women who He choses to raise to do the end time Kingdom Business. People in the Body of Christ, absolute strangers like He did with Paul and people who are ready and abreast with Him to do His Kingdom Business.
A couple of days ago my wife said she could not believe we were able to move to our new home. She couldn't imagine we did it all on our own: the two of us and our three young children. She was expectant of the move and nurtured the desire but she was not in a hurry to move when the dream became a reality. I have to get her pack her things amidst reluctance and excuses. You sometimes wondered whether she changed her mind. But thank God we moved on. There were challenges and the are still challenges. Certain routines have become a challenge but we are making progress. We are now fully at home with the change.
If we have to work hard to accept and live with a change we have always worked for, how will it be like with the one we don't have an idea about and probably not ready. When we moved to our home from where we relocated we knew that was our final destination. The only change was the children leaving us. But when events which we never thought about happened our natural responses without the thought of a new home led to this change. Who knows, we may relocate again. Be ready my dear.
God is going to surprise Christiandom with moves and changes that even the biggest ministries and Men of God cannot perceive.
Merry Christmas.
