Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Believers Loveworld, aka Christ Embassy said faith is a product of our consciousness of the personality of God. Knowing whom we are dealing with is important to boost our FAITH. He said our knowledge of God makes us worship Him in a special way.
DO YOU KNOW GOD? Do you really think you know Him? Think about that. Bible says, 'Those who know their God will be strong and DO EXPLOITS.
Moses grew up in the house of the Pharaoh of Egypt. The Pharoah of Egypt had many gods: God of water, sun, fertility, irrigation, night, day, food, in fact every activity had a god. Pharaohs are brought up to give orders. They don't and does not know how to take orders even from their numerous gods. The Pharoah hires and fires the gods at his volition and discretion. So when God tasked Moses to go and tell Pharoah to "let my people go", he asked who am I to go tell Pharoah to "let my people go?" Read Exodus 3. When Moses said that God told him "I WILL BE WITH THEE". Moses believed the WORD OF GOD. All he needed was a WORD from God. Even the children of Israel did not know Elohim, so in verse 14 of chapter 3, in response to Moses God said, "I AM THAT I AM.
Moses dare not go before Pharoah to give him an order knowing he had no respect for even the gods of Egypt. But he believed and knew I AM. He went and commanded Pharoah to let "my people go." Pharaoh was adamant as said by God until the tenth plaque. You must know God to have this kind of boldness and audacity of faith. If you know God you won't complain, you won't hold back your substance. You will give, for Kingdom Business.
David was another man who knew his God. David until his encounter with Goliath was a shepherd boy. Note: boy not man. Goliath on the contrary was not only a war tested veteran. He was huge and bigger than all men of his time; at least during the encounter with David. Goliath dispised David, asking am I a dog for you to come to me with stones? David will not be bothered, intimidated or threatened by Goliath's war exploits and size. He took five shinning stones and when Goliath got infuriated and took a step towards him he charged at Goliath. Read 1 Samuel 17. In verse 46 David declared "This day, the Lord will deliver thee into mine hand", and I will smite thee, and take thy head off from thee;...KJV. This is a man who knows his God and he was strong and did makes exploits.
What or who is the Pharaoh or Goliath you have to confront? Get to know your God. Go for the WORD OF GOD. Look for the message 'AUDACITY OF FAITH' By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and watch it over and over until it sinks into your inner man and becomes a reflex action.
