GIFTS - WHAT DOES BIBLE SAY

Is it appropriate for people in public office, place of authority, influence or relatively privileged position to others to accept GIFTS.

It is an illegality in some regimes for public office holders, to accept GIFTS in their official capacity. I did my one year National Service with the Ministry of Finance, Inspectorate Division in Ho, after my A-Level Education. Our duty entails inspection of government property to determine whether the property can be auctioned. One of the guiding principles for the auctioneers we dealt with was, for instance, it is inappropriate to accept GIFTS from someone bidding for a contract or to purchase an item. There are a catalogue of examples including a woman accepting a GIFT from someone who ordinarily wouldn't have been giving her a GIFT and vice versa. 

And thou shall not take NO GIFT: for the GIFT BLINDETH the wise and PERVERTETH the words of the righteous. 

Exodus 23:8 

Be guided accordingly and be led by the Holy Spirit. Seek wisdom and knowledge from the Holy Spirit before you accept GIFTS especially from the opposite sex.
