26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Bible says in Ephesians 5: 26 that Christ gave Himself for us (the church), so that He will sanctify and cleanse us WITH the washing of water by THE WORD so that He can present us to Himself, a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing and that we be holy and without blemish.
I am yet to see the person who will say since his or her mother gave birth to him or her he or she has bathe all these years and the bathing has continued until now. As a result he or she has had enough bath. As such he or she is clean and smelling good. Hence He or she will NOT BATH AGAIN. You can imagine just a day or two what state you can find such a person.
Being born again is not enough. Believing in Christ Jesus with your heart and confessing Him with your mouth is not enough to attain the level mentioned in Ephesians 5:27: no spot, wrinkle nor blemish and ready as a glorious and holy bride. It is the continuous STUDY of the WORD OF GOD that sanctifies and cleanses us. If you don't read and study the WORD OF GOD you are like the man or woman who has refused to bath since birth. If you ever think you have had enough of the WORD OF GOD then you are like the man or woman who has refused to bath since the day you stopped reading and studying the WORD OF GOD.
I am not talking about listening to the WORD OF GOD in church, on radio or video. There is a time that you took over bathing yourself. Until you die or you are sick no one can bath you properly. Not even your spouse can do it the way you will get it done personally.
Hence you must CONTINUE TO READ AND STUDY THE WORD OF GOD on your own. Buy a BIBLE if you don't have one.
In fact if you are not born again don't even waste your time as you MUST receive that BATH of Christ Jesus at birth to make it possible to bath with the WORD OF GOD. If you read and study without the new birth you are as dirty and smelly as ever.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
