Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord build the house and keep the City the builder(s) build and the watchman wake in vain respectively. This is a spiritual principle that must be acknowledged and observed. Until Israel asked for a King like the other nations God was their King as well as their Spiritual source and sustenance. God did this through the Judges who doubled up as leaders cum priest. State power and control was not separated into the spiritual and secular.
As technology advances with industrialisation, science has pushed further the spiritual from the secular. Men seek secular answers premised on secular principles to problems they classified as secular and seek spiritual answers premised on spiritual principles to problems they classified as spiritual. They logic the Infallible WORD OF GOD. Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:18 that 'For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.'
When we say the spiritual is superior to and controls the secular some people rubbish it and think we are naïve and stupid. They claim the WORD OF GOD is but the history of the Jews and that even the Jews practice Judaism not Christianity. Bible says, 'But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling-block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;' 1 Corinthians1:23. Some of the Jews (those practicing Judaism) are still waiting for the Messiah.They don't believe Christ Jesus is the Messiah. Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:14 that 'But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.' They cannot fathom how the spiritual and the secular are inseparable. They cannot fathom how the spiritual is superior to and controls the physical.
Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:25-28 that,
'25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:'
In 1 Corinthians 3:19 Bible says, 'For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.'
Finally Bible says that 'When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.'
Proverbs 16:7
God can and does make the devil to work to your advantage. The devil meant it for evil but God meant it for your good and promotion.
