CHRIST, THE CHURCH AND MARRIAGE Ephesians 5:22-33 speaks on marriage. It says how a wife is to be towards her husband and how a husband is to be towards his wife. It clearly speaks on the parallel of marriage and Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:23 says,For the husband is head of the wife , as also Christ is head of the church. Now God is spirit and He wants to make Himself known physically. No one can actually see the relationship between Christ and the church, but marriage is a physical representation of that. In marriages, husbands and wives are a representation of Christ and the church. Just as Christ went to the point of death for the Church, husbands are called in the same vein to sacrifice for their wives. Wives on the other hand are to emulate the HUMILITY the Church has in reverence of Christ as a result of His sacrifice to save her.
