In our spiritual lives, we can try and cut corners. We need to be careful about taking shortcuts in our walk with the Lord.
Cutting corners on our time with the Lord
When we try and rush through our quiet time, we are cheating ourselves out of intimacy with the Lord.
Vital work happens in our spiritual lives when we spend time reading Scripture, praying, and being quiet before the Lord.
Ignoring God’s will in times of hardship
When we face difficulty in life, our normal reaction is to do what is necessary to end the suffering quickly. When I look back on times of difficulty in my life, those are the seasons where I had a greater dependence on God and saw tremendous growth in my faith. Instead of rushing through those hard seasons, what if we slowed down and asked the Lord to show us how He won’t waste any season? Even the difficult circumstances can be used for His glory.
Not sharing Christ with people because of our fear of rejection
It can be intimidating to share Jesus with others. We have to remind ourselves that we have the opportunity to plant a seed when we tell others about Jesus. A person may have many people plant seeds in their life before they turn their lives over to Jesus. What if that mechanic you don’t tell about Jesus dies without accepting Christ Jesus?
How can you plant a seed today in someone else’s life?
