Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19-20 We have so many things to be thankful for, many of which we often take for granted. You need to thank our Lord for having a home to live in, having transportation, buying food, paying your bills, having a family and loved ones, having good health, and employment. These are just a few items that you may forget to thank the Lord for as you pray daily. You may be so overwhelmed by your circumstances that you may need to stop and start thinking about, or even list out, how many things you are very thankful for. Let me share a very powerful Bible story that shows this so perfectly. Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him–and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” Luke 17:11-19 Are you anxious ? The Lord does not want you to be worried about anything, but just keep praising and thanking Him that He is in control of your life. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7 Do you need help from your Lord today? Cry out to Him. The Lord wants you to be thankful. He wants you to acknowledge all the blessings that He has given you and your family every day. Will you choose today to give thanks to God the Father for everything? God is in control of your life today. I know you may be fearful, hurting, or lonely. You may have the enemy reminding you of all the mistakes that you made in life. May you learn to praise and thank your Lord for your daily bread and His mighty protection from temptations and the evil one. You are truly blessed to be a child of the King of Kings. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4
