Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith... Hebrews 12:2
For everyone who is a Christian, may be the most important thing to do is to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
But there are times when that is so hard. Circumstances loom up before us like insurmountable barriers to peace and faith. Emotions roil within us and make it seem impossible to think clearly or to fix our eyes on anything or anyone!
One day, in the midst of feeling I should fix my eyes on Him and should praise Him, I discovered something that has helped me in this focus so greatly. I felt I should praise Him, but my mind was so distressed, so filled with troubling things. My thoughts were so scattered and I didn't know how to rein them in.
Then I felt the Holy Spirit nudge me.... Praise Him at your point of need. I began to take the troubling things and praise Him for His qualities directly related to each concern. Something like this....
"I am so overwhelmed – but I praise you Heavenly Father that You are NOT overwhelmed. You are not biting your fingernails wondering what to do! You completely grasp the situation and know what should be done."
Lift up those Holy Hands unto God in praise and worship at the point of your NEED(S).
