Proverbs 5:
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
I have always said that anytime anyone makes the comment, "It's my life. So, nobody should tell me how to live it", such a person is an endangered species and must be quarantined immediately for rehabilitation. He or she is a threat not only to him or herself but to humanity at large.
Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16 that, 'All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:' This is the purpose of the WORD OF GOD. Verse 17 of this same Book and Chapter tells us why scripture is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness.. And that is, 'That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
But there are some people who do not heed to doctrine, reproofs, corrections and instructions in righteousness. Neither do they heed to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Bible says in Philippians 2:13 that, 'For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. The Holy Spirit has taken His abode in our inner man for a purpose and one of these is to help our weakness and the frailty of our resolve to LIVE for Christ. At the new birth it's ONLY our inner man that is born anew. Our outer man (body) and SOUL are not. Hence as a babe in Christ these 2 (Body and Soul) war against his or her inner man. Hence we don't have to rationalise or 'logic' the WORD OF GOD as it were. LIVE the WORD OF GOD so that you may be blameless and harmless sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;
Philippians 2:15
There is no way if we walk, talk and live the WORD OF GOD that we may live with regrets. Additionally there is no way we will live with regrets if we learn to listen to and do the promptings, leadings and directions of the Holy Spirit.
Timing is relevant in our world. Hence doing what is supposed to be done at the set time is critical to living without regrets. There are people who have lived or are living without living their God given purpose.
For instance some people never got married because they thought they will always be young and hence kept turning every suitor away. Some never worked because they found everyone odd to work with. Some never lived in their own homes because they chose to spend on other things they thought brought them instant gratification. Some people never imparted any life because they thought life is survival of the fittest forgetting that, '...the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. Ecclesiastes 9:11.
Time and chance happeneth to them all. Take decisions and actions that are relevant to the time and season we are in. Listen to reproofs, instructions in righteousness, doctrine and corrections.
LIVE your God given purpose.
