The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
We who were once lost without God and hope. We who were once bound and blinded by the god of the flesh and the world. Have been brought out of bondage into freedom. We were brought out of darkness into His marvelous light.
The beauty of our freedom lies in the fact that He did not only bring us out of bondage but He also simultaneously brought us into His rest. He didn't leave us wondering in the wilderness. He cared enough to carry us into His Freedom. Bible says, 'Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17).
We have been brought into Christ. Christ is a place; a place of freedom. Freedom from all evil and the works of the devil.
Isaiah 61:1 says, 'You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.'
We who were sin personified has become the righteousness of God through the redemptive work of Christ Jesus. When God looks at us He sees Christ Jesus, (Romans 6:18).
Finally, brethren, please note that:
'It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.' (Galatians 5:1).
