Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Does your family and friends know that you are a Christian. Are you radiating Jesus as Savior and Lord of your life wherever you go?
But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1 John 2:5-6
It can be easy to get discouraged when you see your spouse, children, friends, colleagues et cetera, living in sin. Saul persecuted and killed Christians before Jesus spoke to him in an encounter. After that personal experience with Jesus, his heart was so transformed that he was given the name Paul. Through him, God birthed many churches as we read in the New Testament. I pray regularly for prodigal lost souls to have that same type of encounter with Jesus Christ.
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.
1 Timothy 1:15-16
You are fighting against the generational sin of divorce. You may already have a divorce in your family from another generation. One of the reasons that I am sharing about being an example is that your stand is not just for your marriage to be restored, but for future generations that will follow.
When I became aware of the implications of divorce, I did not want what my children, grandchildren or future generations go through the pain of divorce.
You can become a lighthouse for others to see how the Lord can change their life and marriage before they have their own crisis. As your friends see you grow in the Lord, share with them the resurrection power of accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives.
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.”
Exodus 20:4-6
You can make a difference right where you are today. Make a difference in your children's lives and everyone that you may meet in your lifetime. Only God knows the impact you or your family members will make in Christian history. Never doubt the plans and purposes of God in your family!
