By the blessing of the righteous the city is exalted: but is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Proverbs 11:11 Another rendition says:
11 When right-living people bless the city, it flourishes;
evil talk turns it into a ghost town in no time.
The church is a nation within a country. It is the spiritual nation in the country. When the church flourishes the nation flourishes. The state of the Church determines the state of the nation.
The righteous in the city, region, nation, continent, the world in proverb 11:11 is the church. By the church, I am not referring to denomination or a place of worship for the righteous. The righteous or the church refers to a collection of born again Christians wherever they may be on planet earth. If you are alone in your house, family, office, work place, a vehicle wherever, YOU ARE THE CHURCH.
Proverbs 11:11 says if the church is a praying church the city, region, nation et cetera prospers. If they however keep quite and does not pray the 'prayer' as it were, of the wicked brings down the city, nation et cetera down.
The mistake Christian make is that they think they are the ONLY people who pray. Do not be surprised wicked and evil men and women too pray. They are praying and cursing 24/7. Do not make too much fuss about prophecy because evil men also prophesy:
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour."
Acts 16:16
Soothsaying is the art or gift of prophecy or the pretence of prophecy by supernatural means. Fortune telling, foretelling, divination, prophecy, prognostication. A soothsayer has knowledge of the future which is usually said to be obtained from a divine source. So bible says TEST THE SPIRITS if they are of God:
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
1 John 4:1
But the beauty of all these is that, the decrees of God over turns that of the devil. Hence NO MATTER the weight, depth, width and content of the curses of the wicked the moment you LIFT UP THOSE HOLY HANDS UNTO GOD IN PRAYER it erodes the curses of the wicked and superimposes the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God on to your family,, the Church and the nation.
God in His infinite wisdom admonished us to pray without ceasing, in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Because the wicked and evil men are cursing 24/7. It is not for nothing that the WORD OF GOD gives specific instructions on specific issues in our lives. The state of the spiritual nation determines the state of the physical nation. But the carnal man has reversed the law of God. Spiritual laws are foolish to the carnal man, hence he focuses on the physical hoping to make it successful independent of the spiritual.
If you want to rule the physical you MUST be a super power in the spiritual. If you shut your closet and your mouth and relax your holy hands your marriage, family, business, career progression, city, nation et cetera will take a nose dive.
